Sequestered Experiments

It is still unclear what the object is. Equally unclear is the nature of the blurred figures it projected when active. After its discovery, it was moved to a deeply sequestered lab where many experiments were run. It took years just to figure out (largely by accident) that firing modulated microwaves at its center of mass causes it to activate. It would begin to hover though mechanisms unknown as rods sprout from it's body. The rods would emit a crackle of purple static, but the most notable feature would be the "ghosts" that appear congregating around the sphere. The distorted figures never seem to express any awareness of their environment or of anything but themselves. In the years since, little else has been learned or 'tripped' about the anomaly. Nevertheless, the sphere will sometimes be activated again for extended periods to see if any novel observations can be made.
