Krynn Homeworld

My effort at a planet painting done digitally with Photoshop. Intended to be the establishing shot for a potential youtube project exploring aliens from more obscure and esoteric sci-fi works for which concept art is either rare or doesn't exist at all. Seems like a good prompt for my own concept work. ;-)

Aqueon is the imaginatively named aquatic homeworld of the Krynn: a sapient, but limbless species featured in "The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time." The Krynn alienated themselves from the rest of the intergalactic community when a faction of their government engaged in a plot to steal Human time-travel technology to travel back in time and alter their own evolution so that their physiology develops prehensile limbs; allowing them to potentially develop technology on their own eons ago...

Overall, I'd say that's a delightfully insane motivation for bad-guy aliens. XD
