Lexington Class Cruiser (Federation Starfleet)

As far as I know, the only beta-cannon property in which the Lexington class makes an appearance is "Star Trek: Klingon Academy." Still though, I liked the design well enough to include it in my project of creating diagrams of the odd "TMP-era Starfleet Battles" designs that blipped in and out of existence during the late-90s/early-00s. From what I understand, the Lexington class was supposed to be derivative of the Excelsior class; basically taking the tech from the latter and fashioning a smaller, lighter ship with it when sending in an Excelsior might be overkill. It was often used as a "Command Cruiser" during fleet operations.

The 'notes' section is head cannon written by me as the lore behind the cruiser is borderline non-existent.
