Oberth Class Multi-Role Tug (Federation Starfleet)

While the Oberth class is a cool little ship, its scale and dimensions have been tragically confused and muddled from the moment it made its first appearance in "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock." This diagram is my own take on the ship to fit in with my "Starfleet Command/Klingon Academy" diagrams. The ST3 production team had intended the Oberth to be roughly 120 meters in length, however at that scale, a physical means to get from the primary to secondary hull just isn't possible. The pylons would just be too narrow. So I added a "neck" to the ship that would allow movement between the two hulls. I also decided to embrace the Oberth as a glorified tug similar to the Ptolemy-class, instead of a dedicated "science ship," allowing the vessel to to be mated with multiple different secondary hulls depending on the mission type.
