Day of the Crimson Gaze

I was speculating about what a solar eclipse may look like if the moon had a substantial atmosphere. Much of the light would be filtered through said atmosphere during an eclipse making it very red. Similarly to why the Moon turns red during a lunar eclipse. One thing's for sure, total solar eclipses would be a *lot* more dramatic than they already are. I wonder what more ancient civilizations would have thought of the sight.
